Goncalo Oliveira VS Yannick Hanfmann-Tennis Prediction for Today
Oliveira is a 22-year-old Portuguese who has hardly any hard work. Lusitan, ranked 203 ATP, generally takes part in clay tournaments. Last year, he had only 3 games played on hard surfaces in bigger ITF competitions. He is left-handed and, from what I noticed, he has a backhand to which he has to work seriously. He’s always set to hit the forehand.
He can not boast of any title, and last year he just got to a Challenger semifinal at Campinas (BRA). He played only hard on this season, but won one match in the first round of Bangkok (THA), 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 with Vanni (ITA). Last week, at Newport Beach (USA), he was eliminated in the inaugural round of Krueger (USA), score 7-6, 6-2.
Hanfmann reached 26, but the German still did not get into the first world. In the circuit after college, Yannick has progressed from year to year and is now in 112th position in the boys’ rankings. In 2017, he put his hand on the first Challenger tournament at Ismaming (GER) in the hall. A small category but also a notable performance for the German.
He lost to Brisbane, but he still managed to play on the main board as a lucky loser. He resolved to take his set to Harrison (USA) in a defeat with 7-6, 4-6, 2-6. In Melbourne, Kozlov (USA) was eliminated in the second round of qualifying, 6-4, 6-7, 4-6. It was not a successful tournament either in Newport Beach (USA), losing in the inaugural round with Klahn (USA), 4-6, 3-6.
It’s hard to figure out differences in the players around 100-200, but when we talk about favorite surfaces, it’s clear that Oliveira can not stand up to his opponent. Yannick feels like fish in the water when playing in the room, while the Lusitan is barely experiencing such surfaces. Considering that Hanfmann also has an ATP tournament final on the clay in Gstaad (SUI), it seems clear to me that tennismen should impose today. Even in two sets.
Prediction Today: Oliveira – Hanfmann: Hanfmann 2-0 to sets
