Germany will host a demonstration tennis tournament without spectators on May 1-4. It will be hosted by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and will contain 32 matches.

The matches will be played at the “Base Tennis Academy”, a sports base located near the town of Hoehr-Grenzhausen. The best known participants will be Yannick Hanfmann (28 years old, 143 ATP) and Dustin Brown (35 years old, 239 ATP).

Tennis players will be required to wear protective masks, except for the actual playing time. There will be only 3 people on the perimeter of the field, the two players and the referee.

At this time, both circuits, WTA and ATP, are closed until July 13. Roland Garros still hopes to find a place in a tennis calendar that bears no resemblance to the original one. Wimbledon, on the other hand, made a definite decision: this year’s edition was declared canceled by the organizers.
